Merchant Operation Manager

We are looking for a Merchant Operations Manager to oversee merchant onboarding, relationship management, and day-to-day operational support. This is a client-facing role that ensures merchants have a smooth experience from signup to live transactions, while coordinating across internal teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Merchant Management

  • Manage the end-to-end merchant lifecycle: onboarding, KYC coordination, training, and support.
  • Negotiate MDR (merchant discount rate) and ensure agreements are compliant before sign-off.
  • Act as primary liaison for merchants, maintaining strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Handle merchant issues including refunds, disputes, and rate clarifications

Operations

  • Support the setup of internal and external user access.
  • Prepare and submit required operational reports accurately and on time.
  • Work closely with finance to address reconciliation, settlement, or transaction issues.
  • Conduct duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Cross-Department Liaison

  • Work with finance, marketing, and other teams to resolve merchant or operational issues.
  • Escalate and follow through on queries with the relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 year's experience in operations or merchant management (preferably in fintech, payments, or financial services).
  • Strong knowledge of MDR, merchant onboarding, and settlement processes.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain process discipline.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Understanding of payment systems, settlement cycles, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience in fintech/startup environments where multitasking is required.

Work Location: Pavilion Damansara Heights

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM5, RM8,000.00 per month
