The M&E Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal performance and compliance of mechanical and electrical systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This includes managing the Reverse Osmosis (RO) water system, conducting equipment maintenance, and overseeing qualification processes such as Operational Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ).

Working location: Abiotide Sdn Bhd, Kanthan, Perak

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain the Reverse Osmosis (RO) water system to ensure compliance with pharmaceutical-grade water standards.
  • Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance of production machines and facility equipment.
  • Responsible for preparing technical documentation, including preventive maintenance procedures, equipment specifications, Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs), Equipment Operating Procedure (EOPs), and validation reports.
  • Conduct equipment validation, perform troubleshooting, and recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Manage automated systems and utilities to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment servicing, repairs, and facility upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.
  • Ensure all maintenance and qualification activities are conducted in accordance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Liaison with government authorities as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environment is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with water systems, utilities, and validation processes.
  • Possess knowledge and experience in HVAC systems for cleanroom-grade environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
