Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for managing and controlling all production operations in the plastic manufacturing plant (blow molding, injection molding, and assembly). This role ensures production targets, quality standards, and delivery requirements are achieved efficiently while driving continuous improvement, reducing rejection rates, implementing 5S practices, and maintaining a safe and productive working environment.


Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

  • Lead, plan, organize, and control daily production operations to meet production schedules and customer delivery timelines.
  • Ensure optimal use of manpower, machines, and materials to achieve productivity and efficiency targets.
  • Monitor and analyze production performance, downtime, and process deviations to achieve consistent output and product quality.

2. Quality & Rejection Reduction

  • Identify root causes of product rejection and lead corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC to ensure all production processes meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Maintain strict process control and continuous monitoring of critical parameters.
  • Implement systematic improvement programs to reduce scrap and rework rates.

3. Continuous Improvement & 5S Implementation

  • Drive productivity improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing and waste reduction.
  • Implement and maintain 5S practices across production areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork within the production team.

4. Manpower & Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and motivate production supervisors, technicians, and operators to achieve company goals.
  • Plan manpower allocation and ensure effective communication between teams.
  • Conduct performance reviews and enforce discipline and company policies.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure all employees use proper PPE.
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness and enforce safety standards at all times.

6. Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to the Managing Director.
  • Report on production performance, rejection rates, and improvement activities.
  • Coordinate with QA, Maintenance, Warehouse, and HR departments to ensure smooth operations.

7. Inventory & Material Control

  • Monitor and control raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
  • Ensure optimal usage of resin, color masterbatch, and regrind material to reduce wastage.
  • Work with the warehouse and planning team to ensure material availability.

8. System & Quality Management

  • Support implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) based on ISO 9001:2015.
  • Ensure production processes comply with company SOPs and customer standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Plastic Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in plastic blow molding and injection molding manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and people management skills.
  • Hands-on experience in process troubleshooting and machine optimization.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, and 5S practices.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, Malay, and Mandarin.
  • Able to work independently and report directly to top management.
  • Preferably able to start work on short notice.
