About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented General Manager to lead Underwater World Langkawi (UWL) — one of Malaysia's leading marine and freshwater aquariums. The role requires strong leadership in finance, marketing, and operations to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities Financial Management

  • Prepare and manage the annual operating budget and business plan.
  • Oversee profitability, cost control, and financial performance of UWL.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors and professional advisors on all financial matters.
  • Oversee financial reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

Marketing & Business Development

  • Develop and implement the annual marketing plan and strategies to increase visitors and revenue.
  • Guide and support the Sales & Marketing team to maximize brand exposure locally and internationally.
  • Establish strong networks with tourism authorities, government agencies, and industry partners.
  • Review and evaluate new business opportunities and proposals for growth.

Operations Management

  • Ensure smooth daily operations and efficient coordination across all departments.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve performance and service excellence.
  • Monitor budget performance, cost efficiency, and compliance with SOPs.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local authorities and the business community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years' experience in management, preferably in tourism, attractions, or hospitality industry.
  • Strong background in finance, marketing, and operations management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strategic mindset with proven ability to drive growth and operational excellence.
