Job Scope:

  • Security Monitoring: Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) dashboards and alerts for suspicious activity, anomalies, and potential security incidents.
  • Incident Triage (L1): Perform initial analysis and triage of security alerts, determining severity and escalating incidents to Tier 2 engineers according to documented playbooks.
  • Vulnerability Management: Assist in running basic vulnerability scans and organizing scan results; tracking patch deployment status across endpoints and servers.
  • Access Management: Support routine access reviews, disabling or enabling user accounts, and managing basic security group permissions in Active Directory or a centralized identity platform.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear, concise logs of all security events, incidents, and actions taken within the ticketing system.
  • Operational Support: Assist with antivirus/endpoint detection and response (EDR) agent health checks and basic firewall rule reviews.

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs) and core security concepts (phishing, malware, encryption).
  • Familiarity with logging systems and basic security tools (e.g., SIEM, antivirus software).
  • Education: A degree or diploma in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
