Job Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents including commercial agreements, vendor contracts, tenancy agreements, NDAs, and partnership/MoU documents.

  • Provide legal advisory and support to business units on operational and commercial matters.

  • Ensure the company's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies.

  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes; assess business impact and recommend action plans.

  • Assist in managing litigation matters, including liaising with external legal counsel.

  • Conduct legal due diligence for corporate transactions, partnerships, or business initiatives.

  • Support development, enhancement, and implementation of legal frameworks and policies.

  • Maintain proper documentation, contract repository, and legal records.

  • Provide training and awareness programs related to legal/ compliance topics.

  • Support risk management activities, including reviewing exposures and recommending mitigation measures.

  • Prepare reports and presentations for management and Board-level discussions when required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant working experience, preferably in corporate, commercial, or in-house legal functions.

  • Experience in the automotive industry, retail sector, or group corporate organization is an added advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian corporate, commercial, and contract laws.

  • Proficient in drafting and reviewing agreements.

  • Good understanding of compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Able to work independently and provide practical business-friendly legal solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills (Bahasa Malaysia & English – written & verbal).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good stakeholder management and ability to collaborate across departments.

  • High integrity, strong confidentiality, and resilience

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and responsible

  • Strong follow-through and time management

  • Able to multitask and work under pressure
