Engineer / Senior Engineer – Sustainable Utility Management, Manufacturing Services

Location: Tanjung Malim

About the Role

Join our Manufacturing Services team and play a key role in driving energy efficiency, utility cost optimization, and sustainability initiatives across the plant. This position supports the organization in planning, executing, and monitoring energy management programs in line with ISO standards, technological advancements, and Proton's long-term sustainability roadmap.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing short- and long-term energy management activities aligned with ISO standards.
  • Support energy awareness and conservation initiatives, including public campaigns, energy genba, energy audits, and coaching sessions at the shop floor.
  • Plan and schedule genba visits together with shop floor Energy Managers.
  • Prepare reports and findings from genba activities, identifying conservation opportunities and recommending mitigation measures.
  • Keep abreast of the latest energy technologies, including IoT applications in energy management systems.
  • Assist the Assistant Manager in organizing Energy Management Team (EMT) and Cross-Functional Team (CFT) periodical meetings and reporting.
  • Progress toward becoming a Competent Registered Energy Manager.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Energy Management or Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Energy & Environment).
  • Exposure to energy or environmental management practices is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles and energy efficiency concepts.
  • Understanding of project management and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) requirements.
  • Familiarity with computer systems, IoT applications, technical reporting, and proposal writing.
