Job Description:

The Product Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of products throughout the production process. This role involves leading quality initiatives, conducting audits, analyzing defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in product quality. The engineer will also be responsible for compliance with industry standards and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor/master's degree in mechanical engineering, automation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in a in a process engineering position within an assembly plant, with knowledge of quality control tools.
• Strong knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO9001 and related quality tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA).
• Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN, KAIZEN, and Six Sigma methodologies to significantly enhance process efficiency, reduce operational costs, and elevate product quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, plan, organize, control, and maintain product quality to meet scheduled volumes while minimizing production costs and energy consumption.

• Coordinate and organize technical analyses to continuously improve product quality.

• Conduct layered process audits and product audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.

• Perform reject analysis and follow up on internal 8D reports to identify and resolve quality issues.

• Prepare and update working instructions and technical documents.

• Generate weekly and monthly reports on quality metrics and improvement initiatives.

• Arrange trials for new projects, materials, and designs, and evaluate the engineering change process.

• Follow up on new product and project developments, ensuring compliance with APQP and PPAP requirements.

• Work closely with the Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) to analyze customer PPM and address quality concerns.

• Build and maintain quality systems to meet IATF16949 and ISO9001 standards and ensure compliance with ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards.

• Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Operation Manager.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Proficient understanding of the IATF16949 system and its application in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in handling internal and external nonconformities independently.
• Proficient in using quality management software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot process issues.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Malay, both written and verbal.
• Leadership skills to organize quality training and meetings and motivate teams effectively.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience or affinity in automotive gearbox systems or similar components.
