Biomedical Technician

Provision of Care

· Ensure all biomedical equipment are being maintained at its required standards and functional at times.

· Maintain biomedical equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules.

· Perform tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of biomedical equipment with supervision.

· Perform electrical safety testing of clinical equipment and devices and monitor completion of preventive maintenance activities performed by outside vendors.

· Coordinate and communicate with end user and service vendor for acceptance of equipment for new unit, loan and demo

· Record daily reading on medical gas to ensure continuous supply of gas at required pressure.

· Ensure all health and safety requirements within the department is adhered and staff are required to observe such requirements.

· Be available to give advice and/or be on-call on a 24-hour basis, to attend to related malfunctioning of biomedical equipment.

· To complete assignments or tasks requested by superior from time to time.

Ensure a safe working environment by:

· To take reasonable care for the safety and health oh him/herself and of other persons who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions at work.

· Adhering to safety precautions whilst carrying out daily tasks to avoid any accidents / injury.

· PPE must be use during certain requirement environment.

· Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of workshop

· Adhere to hospital policies and procedure.

· To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health instituted by his/her employer or any other person by or under Occupational Health and Safety Act or any regulation made thereunder.
