We are seeking an experienced Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function in a dynamic and project-driven organisation within a capital-intensive, project-focused industry.. The role requires a strategic leader who can also be hands-on, with strong capabilities in workforce management, compliance, and organisational development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies in alignment with the company's overall business objectives and long-term growth plans.
  • Partner closely with senior management as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters.
  • Drive organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, and succession management initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition processes to attract and retain high-performing talent across corporate, project, and site operations.
  • Strengthen employer branding to position the company as an employer of choice within the industry.
  • Design and implement retention strategies to reduce turnover in critical positions.
  • Establish and maintain a robust performance management framework linked to measurable business outcomes.
  • Review and align compensation, benefits, and incentive structures with industry benchmarks to ensure internal equity and competitiveness.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify training and development needs to support organisational capability building.
  • Design and implement structured learning programs covering technical, managerial, and leadership competencies.
  • Develop succession plans and talent pipelines to support future leadership needs.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, health and safety regulations, and all statutory requirements.
  • Maintain fair and transparent employee relations practices, including grievance handling and disciplinary management.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on industrial relations matters to maintain workplace harmony.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive organisational culture that promotes engagement, teamwork, and employee well-being.
  • Design and execute engagement programs aimed at enhancing morale, retention, and productivity.
  • Drive workplace safety initiatives in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Oversee HR operations, including payroll administration, employee records, and HRIS system management.
  • Utilise HR data and analytics to support decision-making related to workforce trends, productivity, and training ROI.
  • Lead HR digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and transparency across the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Has worked in the Construction industry with entrepreneur founders before.
  • Proven track record in project-driven, capital-intensive industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and industrial relations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
  • Fluent in English and local Chinese dialect(s) preferred.
  • Malaysian citizen.
