Job Summary

The Contract Manager (MEP) will be responsible for overseeing all contractual, commercial, and procurement aspects of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) works for large-scale hyperscale data center projects. This role ensures effective cost control, risk management, and compliance with contractual obligations, while driving project profitability and commercial efficiency. The incumbent will work closely with project, engineering, and procurement teams, as well as subcontractors and clients, to safeguard the company's commercial interests throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Lead and manage all contractual and commercial matters related to M&E works across multiple projects.
  • Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and administration of main contracts and subcontracts.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and change management procedures.
  • Review and manage variations, progress claims, interim valuations, and final accounts.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks to protect company interests.

Procurement & Cost Control

  • Develop procurement strategies for M&E packages and oversee tendering, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to ensure alignment with financial targets.
  • Evaluate and approve supplier and subcontractor claims in accordance with contract terms.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives and value engineering exercises to enhance project profitability.

Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering, and site teams to ensure alignment of contractual and commercial objectives.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on all commercial matters.
  • Prepare and present regular commercial reports and financial updates to management.
  • Support dispute resolution processes, ensuring prompt and equitable settlements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred; candidates with a Degree in Quantity Surveying are also encouraged to apply.
  • 8–12 years of experience in M&E contract or commercial management within the construction industry, preferably with main contractors.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale MEP projects, such as data centers, hospitals, or semiconductor facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement strategy, and commercial risk management.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
