Regional Business Development Manager

Our client (Singapore office for a French company specialize in electrical power connection systems and hazardous area products including distribution panels) is currently looking for a Regional Business Development Manager. Regional coverage will include Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam (maintaining and growing our existing business), as well as Thailand, Korea, Taiwan and Japan (developing new market opportunities)
Main responsibilities include:
Creating, maintaining and expanding the customer base in the region assigned to him/her
Managing the relationship with customers and all business negotiations with them
In accordance with the shared business strategies, finding suitable ways and consistently brings new business opportunities from the region/customers entrusted to him/her into the company
Developing specific sales strategies for the main area/customers (but not limited to South-east Asia including S.Korea and Japan) entrusted to him/her and putting them into practice with concrete tactics and actions
Conducting local & regional visits to target OEMs, System integrators, Contractors, M&E consultants and EPCs in different fields
If required, helping set up an indirect sales network, selecting possible agents/distributors and submitting them for approval by the Sales Management
Managing and coordinating the activity of agents and distributors in the area of his/her responsibility
Gathering feedback from customers and the market regarding the products/services offered and reporting these within the company
Preparing timely and accurate sales reports
Being closely involved in monthly projects meeting and discussions with the factory in Italy
Proposing the sales budget providing concrete elements for its discussion and subsequent approval
Keeping abreast of the products/services offered by competitors and their sales trends in the area of competence.
Ensuring the punctual follow-up of the sales offers sent.
REQUIREMENTS
Hard skills :
Excellent Electrical Engineering academic background
years of proven successful experience in :
- Supplying electricals to Oil & Gas Industry and other Industries (Chemical, F&B …)
- Developing network of end-users and key actors (OEMs, System Integrators, EPCs, Contractors, M&E consultants…)
Knowledge of explosion-proof electrical products and ATEX market regulations would be ideal
CRM and Microsoft Office tools proficient
Fluent in English both written and spoken
Soft skills :
Strong sales acumen, customer focus and energy
Highly motivated towards company goals
Pro-active and able to understand quickly the company's products technical specifications
Mature and reliable
Patient
Willing to travel
Reporting line : to General Manager at Singapore office
Location: Malaysia (Home based)
Frequent travel throughout the designated sales area
