Job description

Responsibilities

  • oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank & treasury, and general ledger functions
  • Ensure transactions and balances are accurately recorded in accordance with Malaysian , International Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and Group Accounting Standards
  • Work with the Financial Controller & Management Accounting Manager to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure budget adherence, providing regular feedback on cost performance and guidance on meeting budget targets.
  • Monitor budget performance and assist in identifying areas for improvement
  • Assist to work with department heads to identify areas of high cost and potential savings, focusing on materials, labor, variable and fixed overhead costs etc
  • Assist to develop and implement cost control measures, setting up benchmarks and cost-saving initiatives to optimize the organization's cost structure
  • Support the Financial Controller in supervising the finance team, including training, mentoring, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Carry out back-up roles and duties for financial controller and provide general support to the finance team as required
  • Carry out ad-hoc roles and duties as and when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree & Above in Accounting or related field
  • Min 7 years of working experience in Accounting
  • Familiar with Accounting System
  • Understand & Familiar with Accounting Principles/FRS, control concepts
  • Detail Oriented & Meticulous
  • Able to handle work independently
  • Excellent Team Player
  • Good interpersonal skills
