1. Production & Capacity Planning

  • Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on sales forecast, customer orders, and production capacity.
  • Ensure production plans align with available manpower, machines, and materials.
  • Review and adjust production schedules to accommodate changes in demand, machine breakdowns, or material shortages.
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve any scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks.

2. Material Planning

  • Oversee Material Requirement Planning (MRP) to ensure sufficient raw material and component availability.
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Warehouse teams to manage inventory levels and avoid material shortages or overstock.
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance and follow up on urgent or critical materials.

3. Demand & Forecast Management

  • Analyze historical data and customer demand trends to generate accurate forecasts.
  • Communicate forecast and production capacity to Sales and Management for alignment.
  • Monitor order fulfillment and provide visibility on delivery commitments.

4. Process & System Management

  • Maintain and improve planning systems, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Establish standard planning procedures and ensure adherence across departments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for better planning efficiency and visibility.

5. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, train, and develop the Planning and Material Control team to achieve departmental KPIs.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and problem-solving culture within the planning department.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for continuous skill improvement.

6. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly planning performance reports (e.g., delivery performance, plan adherence, inventory status).
  • Monitor key indicators such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), inventory turnover, and production efficiency.
  • Provide data analysis and recommendations to management for decision-making.

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and cost-reduction projects.
  • Optimize material flow, reduce lead time, and enhance supply chain flexibility.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives within the planning and production process.
