Job Summary:

The Indoor Sales Co-ordinator in the steel industry is responsible for managing sales operations, supporting the sales team, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The role involves processing orders, preparing quotations, and overseeing delivery logistics to ensure timely and efficient fulfillment of customer requirements. A strong understanding of steel products and supply chain coordination is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction:
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding steel products, grades, specifications, and pricing.
  • Provide tailored recommendations based on customer requirements.
  • Quotation and Order Management:
  • Prepare accurate and detailed quotations, considering product specifications and delivery costs.
  • Process customer orders, verifying specifications, quantities, and delivery timelines.
  • Delivery Logistics Coordination:
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to schedule deliveries and optimize routes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely dispatch of materials, adhering to customer timelines and specifications.
  • Monitor the delivery process and promptly address any issues, such as delays, damaged goods, or incorrect shipments.
  • Communicate delivery schedules and updates to customers and internal teams.
  • Stock and Inventory Coordination:
  • Liaise with inventory managers to confirm stock availability and allocate products for orders.
  • Keep customers informed of stock shortages, lead times, or alternate product options.
  • Sales Support:
  • Maintain up-to-date customer records, price lists, and sales reports.
  • Analyze sales data to assist in forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Follow-Up and Customer Relationship Management:
  • Follow up on pending quotations and orders to secure business.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints, escalating them when necessary.
  • Coordination and Communication:
  • Serve as the central point of contact between customers, the sales team, and internal departments, including production and logistics.
  • Provide status updates on order processing and delivery schedules.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Assist in preparing tender documents and project-specific quotations.
  • Generate reports on sales performance and delivery efficiency for management review.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
  • Minimum high school diploma; a degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of steel materials and logistics operations is highly advantageous.
  • Experience:
  • At least 2 years in sales, customer service, or logistics coordination, preferably in the steel or manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems and logistics management software.
  • Basic knowledge of steel standards and specifications (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
