We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to join our team at Syarikat Muhibah Perniagaan Dan Pembinaan Sdn Bhd, a construction company in Subang Jaya, Selangor. The role ensures projects are executed efficiently, meet design, quality, and compliance standards, and are delivered within approved timelines and budgets. Also, to provide leadership and guidance to the project teams towards achieving organisational goals.

Job Responsibilities:

1.    Project Management & Delivery

  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including planning, design, tender, construction, authority liaison, and handover stages.
  • Manage and coordinate all project deliverables to ensure timely completion in accordance with the master schedule and approved budget.
  • Lead consultants and clients in Client-Consultant Meetings, Technical Meetings, Site Meetings, and other project-related discussions.
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with quality, cost, design specifications, and Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) requirements in collaboration with the QESH team.

2.    Design & Technical Coordination

  • Work closely with the Contracts Department to ensure tender and award processes are carried out in line with project timelines.

3.    Authorities & Compliance

  • Liaise with relevant authorities to obtain necessary approvals and ensure all project works comply with statutory regulations and conditions.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and legal obligations throughout the project lifecycle.

4.    Leadership & Reporting

  • Lead and mentor project teams, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure effective project execution.
  • Prepare and present regular project updates, reports, and recommendations to the General Manager, Project, and Management.
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management from time to time

Sustainability, Risk & Governance

  • Integrate sustainable design and construction practices throughout all planning and development activities.
  • Identify and manage project risks, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Drive ESG considerations in project decision-making and execution frameworks.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil and Structural, Architecture, Building or related discipline with minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to organise and manage multiple priorities for maximum delivery results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to build effective and long-standing partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and attentive to details while staying focused on the big picture, and be able to conceptualise both problems and solutions.
  • Must be prepared to define their position on significant issues and drive change when necessary.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
