About the Role

A Quality Engineer (PCBA) is responsible to supervise staff and oversee product development procedures to ensure quality efficiency standards are in place for In-Process and Outgoing according to customer requirements. He/she needs to ensure our manufactured products are aligned with customer expectation & product quality standards meets customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

Quality Development

• PCBA/ SMT - Establishes quality system, handles audits and inspects solder joints, AOT/ICT data, handles customer complaint.
• Plan and perform process/product/production audits & involve in internal and external audit.
• Conduct weekly gemba walk audit at production workplace & compile findings found in summary report
• Address risk and opportunity at work station to overview safety, healthy and environment impact & react as planned.
• Review Quality Standard Instruction & prepare In-Process Inspection Checklist by part model.
• Involve in product development stage & cooperate with cross- functional team to analyse the product quality performance.
• Compile manufacturing issue tracker at development stage to troubleshoot, maintain and improve existing systems.
• Lead non-conforming issues and implement of corrective action / preventive action.

Training

• Develop a teamwork with subordinate & ensure the smooth operation between IPQC and OQC inspection to achieve the department objectives, organization quality policy and objectives.
• Plan, schedule and conduct on job training and education programs for inspectors to ensure their understandings of inspection requirements and their competence in defect detection and inspection judgement.
• Prepare confirmation/appraiser for subordinate.

Quality Improvement

• Assess internal and external feedback & issue NCMR when rejection originated from Production / Process.
• Rectify/troubleshoot quality issues & ensure corrective action taken were effective & monitor effectiveness of process improvement progress implemented by issuing NCR/CAPA or used customer format.
• Review daily quality performances & capture in monthly KPI report for improvement plan ahead.
• Extract scrap rejection from production report into defect breakdown pareto analysis to capture top defect occurrences & discuss among representative from each department for process improvement.
• Conduct report verification, perform analysis on report / record & identify improvement opportunity & initiate improvement study.
• Responsible to handle customer or internal pertaining quality issues & involve in process improvement studies related to complaint/ feedback and ensure all issues to be closed in appointing time.
• Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement & develop new efficient procedures.

Quality Support

• Lead non-conforming issues and implement of corrective action / preventive action.
• Be the representative person of Quality Department to attend the meeting discussion.
• Review, identify and provide resources (Human, Machine, Material and Method) needed in executing quality planned.
• Ensure equipment used for measurement is calibrated and not overdue from the expiry date.
• Assist and respond promptly to incident, investigate and provide temporary and or permanent resolution of incidents escalated.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science or a related field.
• Must have experience in PCBA.
• Knowledge of ISO9001 & ISO14001.
• Understanding of product specification, drawing, BOM & CP.
• Good supervisory, motivational, training & management skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Offices.
• Knowledge of 7 Quality Tools and excellent in quality work flow.
• 6 Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
• Effective communication and technical writing skills.
