Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Payroll Senior Executive to independently manage end-to-end payroll operations within a shared services environment. This role requires a high level of autonomy, accuracy, and discretion. The ideal candidate will also act as a generalist for HR operational matters (excluding HRBP and recruitment) and serve as the designated backup to the HR Manager during their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage and execute monthly payroll processes with minimal supervision
  • Maintain accurate employee records related to compensation, deductions, bonuses, and leave
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, etc.)
  • Prepare and review payroll reports, statutory filings, and salary slips
  • Liaise with HR and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll inputs (new hires, exits, leave, etc.)
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Address employee payroll-related inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Support internal and external audits, including year-end processes and reporting
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws and payroll regulations
  • Act as a generalist for HR operational matters (excluding HRBP and recruitment)
  • Serve as the successor to the HR Manager during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of HR operations

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in a shared services or high-volume environment
  • Proficient in payroll systems (e.g., HR2000) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian labor laws and statutory obligations
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively

Preferred Skills:

  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with a problem-solving approach

Experience supporting or stepping into leadership roles is an added advantage
