Summary

A lead for site Master Production Scheduling (MPS) is responsible for developing and executing production schedule for Insulin manufacturing ensuring alignment with demand forecast, Drug Substance (DS) availability and Drug Product (DP) manufacturing requirements. This role plays a critical part in balancing supply, capacity and inventory and will involve close collaboration with various departments to ensure seamless supplies as per committed site targets, while ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Master Production Scheduling (MPS) & Capacity Planning

2. Develop and maintain an optimized MPS for insulin production balancing supply and demand

3. Collaborate with Supply Network Planning (SNP), regional supply chain, procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate production scheduling
4. Assess production capacity and identify constraints proactively addressing bottlenecks

5. Ensure adherence to planning parameters, budgeted capacity assumptions, lead times and regulatory requirements

6. Drug Substance (DS) and Drug Product (DP) Alignment

7. Coordinate DS and DP production planning to ensure uninterrupted supplies to global markets

8. Manage inventory levels of DS and DP as per predetermined targets avoiding shortages and excess stocks.

9. Align production schedules with new product launch requirements m regulatory filing strategies and market specific requirements.

10. Input Material Planning

11. Develop a robust input material plan in line with lead time, inventory and safety stock targets.

12. Coordinate with production to maintain accurate Bills of Materials and Master Data

13. Implement best practices for MRP automation

14. Cross-functional Collaboration

15. Work Closely with manufacturing, quality, regulatory, supply network planning and regional supply chain teams to ensure smooth execution of production plans.

16. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely dispatches as per committed timelines
17. Collaborate with procurement, warehouse and quality to ensure raw material availability for uninterrupted manufacturing as per schedule

18. Support New Product Launches, process enhancements and changes by integrating them with MPS

19. Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

20. Define track KPIs such as schedule adherence, supply plan vs actuals, inventory targets and service levels

21. Analyse data to identify patterns and make informed decisions regarding inventory levels and production schedules.
22. Prepare reports for senior management, providing insights into planning metrics and performance.
23. Implement lean manufacturing and planning practices to improve efficiency

24. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning and supply chain processes

26. Lead and mentor a team of planners, providing direction and support to enhance their skills and performance.

27. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure effective communication across departments.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in supply chain planning preferably in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or related field, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong expertise in MRP/MPS and proficiency in SAP (MM, IBP and relevant planning modules)
• Proven leadership experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Managed teams with demonstrated ability to drive performance
• Previous knowledge of GMP, FDA, EMA and other regulatory requirement would be an advantage
