The Opportunity

Join our growing team as HR Manager and play a strategic role in shaping the future of our organisation. This position offers the unique opportunity to build and lead HR functions in a dynamic, multicultural environment while contributing to the development of Timor-Leste's workforce.

As HR Manager, you will oversee a full range of human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and compliance. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in fostering a positive workplace culture and driving organisational success.

The Perfect Fit

To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate will:

  • Be willing to relocate to work in Dili, Timor-Leste – this is an exciting opportunity for professionals seeking international experience
  • Possess 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities with proven success in leading and developing diverse teams
  • Have strong knowledge of HR best practices, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, and compliance
  • Be proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
  • Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Be able to communicate fluently in English

Highly Preferred:

  • Multilingual capabilities – fluency in Chinese Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia/Malaysia is highly valued and will be a significant advantage
  • Experience working in multicultural or international environments
  • Knowledge of Tetum or Portuguese is a bonus
