Summary of Position

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead and manage the full spectrum of human resources functions in our international school. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting school operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and fostering a positive, high-performing work environment for academic and non-academic staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for academic, administrative, and support staff.
  • Develop effective strategies to attract qualified local and expatriate candidates.
  • Coordinate interviews, screenings, reference checks, and offer issuance.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees.
  • Manage employment contracts, HR letters, and staff documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and databases.
  • Support and implement the school's performance appraisal system.
  • Advise Heads of Department on staff performance matters and improvement plans.
  • Handle employee relations issues and provide HR-related guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian labour laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Review, update, and enforce HR policies, SOPs, and staff handbooks.
  • Coordinate work permit and visa applications for expatriate staff.
  • Liaise with Finance on payroll, allowances, claims, and statutory submissions.
  • Oversee leave management, attendance tracking, and HRIS administration.
  • Plan and coordinate staff training, professional development, and engagement activities.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in an education or international school environment.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and MS Office.
  • Experience working with expatriates and international staffing matters is an advantage.
