The boarding house is located approximately 10 minutes from the main school campus. Boarding Parent are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of care, safety, safeguarding, and wellbeing for every boarder (students from Year 8 to Year 11). They provide a stable and nurturing presence that helps students feel safe and supported while living away from home.

Qualifications

·       Minimum of a Diploma-level qualification or higher.

·       First Aid and CPR certified (or willing to obtain).

·       Relevant qualifications in childcare, social care, youth work, education or nursing are an advantage.

Experience

·       Experience working with students in pastoral, educational, residential, or youth settings.

·       Sound understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.

·       Previous experience in a boarding school or residential care settings is an advantage.

·       Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Skills

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both students and staffs.

·       Ability to build rapport with young people and earn their trust.

·       Strong organisational and time management skills.

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Knowledge

·       Awareness of the needs of young people in a residential setting

·       Basic understanding of adolescent development

·       Appreciation of cultural sensitivities and the needs of international students

Other Requirements

·       Flexible approach to working hours, including shift work during mornings, evenings and weekends.

·       Willingness to live on-site or be available on-call when necessary.

·       A valid driving licence and the ability to provide transport for students for airport transfers, medical situations, off-site appointments, excursions and any ad hoc request (when required).

·       As this role involves working with students, successful applicants will be required to undergo appropriate background and safeguarding checks.
