Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Sous Chef. The position is located in Kuala Lumpur. The Sous Chef will oversee kitchen operations, ensuring all food items are prepared and presented according to established standards. They will assist the Head Chef in menu development, coordinate with kitchen staff, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The Sous Chef will also train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff.

Qualifications

  • Culinary skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, inventory management, and menu development
  • Leadership skills including staff training, supervision, and team coordination
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations within a kitchen environment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Relevant culinary qualification or certification
  • Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous
