About the role

Pembinaan SJJ Sdn Bhd, a leading construction company in Selangor, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost-effective and efficient project delivery. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of large-scale construction initiatives in the Selangor region.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies for construction projects
  2. Negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
  3. Monitoring and controlling project budgets, highlighting potential cost overruns and suggesting strategies to mitigate them
  4. Preparing and analysing progress reports, keeping key stakeholders informed of project status and financial performance
  5. Providing expert advice on construction materials, methods, and industry best practices
  6. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure seamless project coordination
  7. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies

What we're looking for

  1. Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related engineering/construction discipline
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  3. Proven track record in cost estimation, contract management, and financial control of construction projects
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically
  5. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders
  6. Proficient in using relevant software tools for cost estimation, project management, and data analysis
  7. Demonstrable knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations
