Finance Manager Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to oversee our

financial operations and ensure the company's financial health. The ideal candidate will be

responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role requires

strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide strategic financial

insights to support business growth and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting


• Oversee the full set of company accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and

compliance with accounting standards.


• Prepare and maintain the general ledger, cash book, debtors and creditors ledgers, and

journal entries.


• Update all accounting entries in the SQL accounting system on a timely basis.


• Perform monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports for management review.


• Prepare quarterly financial reports and present key insights to shareholders.


• Develop and maintain a 3-month financial forecast projection.

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management


• Update Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) files daily for reporting

to the General Manager and Directors.


• Verify creditors' invoices and process payments promptly.


• Monitor debt collections, perform debtors' reconciliations, and ensure timely receipt of

outstanding payments.

3. Asset Management & Reconciliation


• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, including calculation and posting of

depreciation.


• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank and company

records.

4. Staff Claims

• Ensure continuous audit readiness by maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date

financial records.


• Provide auditors with timely and accurate information to achieve 100% satisfactory audit

outcomes

6. Cash Management & Ad-hoc Duties


• Manage and monitor company cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.


• Handle ad-hoc finance-related matters and provide support on all cash-related

transactions as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:


• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.


• Professional certification

(ACCA) is preferred.


• Able to do a full set of accounts.


• 5+ years of experience in financial management or in a similar role.


• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.


• Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


• Strong leadership and team management abilities.


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


• High attention to detail and accuracy.


• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
