Key Responsibilities

1. Product Ordering and Replenishment

  • Oversee and manage product ordering, stock replenishment, and overall inventory control.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder products based on demand, sales trends, and shelf space availability.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient product ordering schedule to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels for high-demand and seasonal items.
  • Forecast demand and market trends to adjust ordering quantities and schedules accordingly.
  • Coordinate promotions, in-store marketing activities, and new outlet orders to maximise sales and product availability.

2. Inventory Management

  • Track inventory and sales trends to identify fast-moving, slow-moving, and high-demand items.
  • Work with the Distribution Centre (DC) and store teams to conduct regular stock counts and inventory audits.
  • Collaborate with Merchandise Buyers to reduce supplier out-of-stock (OOS) issues and optimise stock days.
  • Coordinate closely with store operations teams to ensure continuous product availability.
  • Partner with Merchandise Buyers and store operations to minimise excess inventory, discontinue low-performing products, and reduce markdowns.

3. Supplier and Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure product availability and timely deliveries.
  • Establish and review delivery schedules with suppliers to meet operational needs.
  • Resolve non-delivery issues, discrepancies, and other supplier-related concerns promptly.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews with Merchandise Buyers to ensure service level agreement (SLA) compliance.

4. Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Utilise POS data, sales trends, and customer feedback to determine ordering needs and required stock levels.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of orders, inventory levels, and supplier communications.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports on inventory status, ordering performance, and product trends to senior management.
  • Analyse inventory data to optimise stock days and identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Monitor the efficiency of ordering processes and recommend improvements when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in retail management, inventory control, or similar roles. Experience in convenience retail or FMCG environments is an advantage.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and inventory management practices.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS applications, and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Strong analytical abilities with the capability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
