Job Vacancy: Laboratory Assistant (Microbiology)

Location: Seksyen 51A, Petaling Jaya

Job Summary

We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant (Microbiology) to support microbiological testing, documentation, laboratory operations, and R&D activities. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining laboratory quality, accuracy, and compliance with ISO and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned microbiological laboratory testing accurately and on time
  • Assist in test method development and validation
  • Analyze results and prepare test reports and related documentation
  • Conduct routine laboratory monitoring and housekeeping
  • Manage laboratory stock, supplies, and purchase requisitions
  • Support internal and external audits (ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 45001)
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding testing matters
  • Ensure laboratory safety and compliance with OHS requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer data and company intellectual property
  • Assist in Research & Development (R&D) activities including:
  • Preparing R&D proposals and costing
  • Executing approved R&D projects
  • Documenting findings accurately
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Diploma in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biology, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of microbiological testing and laboratory practices
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 and laboratory quality systems is an advantage
  • Good documentation and reporting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Responsible, disciplined, and committed to quality and safety
