The Secondary School Laboratory Assistant supports the science department in maintaining the school laboratory and assisting students and teachers during science lessons and experiments. This role requires a hands-on, practical approach to ensure the laboratory is safe, well-organized, and fully equipped to support science education at the secondary school level.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up materials and equipment for science experiments and lessons.
  • Assist teachers during laboratory sessions and science demonstrations.
  • Ensure that laboratory equipment is clean, functional, and properly maintained.
  • Monitor student safety and ensure proper use of lab equipment during practical activities.
  • Handle and dispose of chemicals in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain records of laboratory inventory and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the laboratory environment.
  • Support risk assessments and implementation of lab safety procedures.
  • Provide basic technical support to students and teaching staff.

Requirements:

  • SPM or UEC graduates are welcome to apply;
  • Must be able to read and write in Chinese;
  • Prior experience in laboratory work is an added advantage;
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory procedures and equipment handling is preferred;
  • Responsible, well-organized, and able to follow instructions closely.
