Job Description:

The Restaurant Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the restaurant by assisting with food service, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. The role ensures that food and beverages are served efficiently, the dining area is well maintained, and kitchen operations run smoothly in coordination with the cook and supervisor.

Job Scope / Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service & Front Operations

  • Greet customers warmly and ensure a pleasant dining experience.
  • Take orders accurately and deliver food and drinks promptly.
  • Handle customer inquiries or complaints politely and escalate when needed.
  • Ensure tables are cleaned and reset after each use.

2. Food Handling & Support

  • Assist in food preparation such as cutting, plating, or portioning when required.
  • Ensure hygiene and safety standards are maintained in handling food and beverages.
  • Refill condiments, napkins, and other service items regularly.

3. Cleanliness & Maintenance

  • Keep dining area, counter, and service stations clean at all times.
  • Assist with dishwashing, sweeping, and mopping as part of end-of-day cleanup.
  • Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal according to SOP.

4. Stock & Inventory

  • Assist in checking stock levels of ingredients, beverages, and disposables.
  • Inform supervisor or cook on items that are running low.
  • Help with receiving and storing supplies.

5. Teamwork & Administration

  • Work closely with the cook and manager to ensure smooth flow of operations.
  • Follow daily schedule and SOP as directed by the supervisor.
  • Attend briefings or meetings related to restaurant operations.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in F&B or hospitality is an advantage.
  • Pleasant personality, good communication, and hygiene awareness.
  • Able to work in a team and handle fast-paced environments.

Job Description:

The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food items according to set menus and standards. This role ensures high food quality, cleanliness, and safety in all kitchen operations. The cook also assists in planning menus, managing inventory, and coordinating with the restaurant assistant and supervisor.

Job Scope / Responsibilities:

1. Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare and cook meals according to the menu, portion, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure food quality, freshness, and consistency are maintained.
  • Handle special dietary or allergy-related requests carefully.

2. Kitchen Hygiene & Safety

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and utensils.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures (JAKIM/HACCP standards if applicable).
  • Monitor food storage temperatures and expiry dates.

3. Stock Control & Ordering

  • Track inventory of ingredients and consumables.
  • Prepare requisition lists and assist in stock receiving.
  • Minimize wastage and manage cost-effective use of ingredients.

4. Menu Planning & Improvement

  • Suggest new menu items or improvements to existing recipes.
  • Support special events, promotions, or themed menus.
  • Assist in costing and portion control.

5. Team Coordination

  • Work closely with restaurant assistants for service timing.
  • Provide guidance to kitchen helpers or assistants.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
