Senior HR Executive

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: HR Manager / Director

Location: Shah Alam


Job Summary:

The Senior HR Executive is responsible for overseeing and executing the full spectrum of human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and HR administration. This role supports the company's people strategy to ensure smooth HR operations in a fast-paced, creative, and project-based event management environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  2. Manage the full recruitment process — from job posting to selection.

  3. Work closely with hiring managers to understand manpower needs for both permanent and project-based staff.
  4. Manage onboarding and induction programs to ensure smooth integration of new hires.

  5. HR Operations & Compliance

  6. Handle HR documentation, employment contracts, and personnel files.

  7. Administer attendance, leave, and payroll data in coordination with the Finance team.
  8. Ensure all HR practices comply with Malaysian labour laws and company policies.

  9. Employee Relations & Engagement

  10. Act as a point of contact for employee queries, grievances, and conflict resolution.

  11. Support initiatives that promote a positive, engaging, and collaborative work culture.
  12. Plan and execute staff engagement activities, team-building events, and welfare programs.

  13. Performance Management

  14. Support the implementation and monitoring of performance appraisals and KPIs.

  15. Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance improvement and career growth.

  16. Learning & Development

  17. Identify training needs and coordinate internal and external learning programs.

  18. Track and evaluate training effectiveness and employee development progress.

  19. HR Strategy & Support

  20. Assist management in HR planning, manpower budgeting, and organizational development.

  21. Contribute ideas to improve HR systems, policies, and workflow efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in event management, media, or hospitalityindustries.
  • Strong understanding of the Malaysian Employment Act and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience handling project-based or freelance staff.
  • Familiarity with HR digital tools and payroll systems.
  • Energetic and adaptable personality suited for the event industry.
