About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Manager (Mandarin Speaker) to join our team at MITIME CONSTRUCTION MALAYSIA SDN BHD. This is a full-time position based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising our procurement processes to support the company's manufacturing, transport and logistics operations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Developing and implementing effective procurement strategies to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
  2. Negotiating contracts with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing, terms and conditions
  3. Managing relationships with existing suppliers and identifying new potential partners
  4. Overseeing the procurement team to ensure efficient and compliant purchasing procedures
  5. Analysing procurement data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  6. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with overall business objectives
  7. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and company policies related to procurement

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years' experience in a procurement or supply chain management role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industries
  2. Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  4. Proficiency in Mandarin and English, both written and verbal
  5. Familiarity with relevant procurement regulations and best practices
  6. Analytical and problem-solving skills to optimise procurement processes
  7. Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
