Job Overview

The Sales Assistant supports the Sales Department in managing customer accounts, preparing quotations, handling order processing, and ensuring smooth communication between customers and internal teams. This role is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and supporting business growth in the plastic injection moulding manufacturing industry.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Support & Relationship Management

  • Assist in responding to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, lead times, and specifications.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and prompt follow-up.
  • Coordinate customer visits, meetings, and sample requests.

Sales Operations & Documentation

  • Prepare and issue quotations, sales orders, and delivery orders.
  • Track order status from confirmation to delivery, ensuring customers are updated accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and reports.

Internal Coordination

  • Liaise with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with production to confirm material availability, mould status, and delivery schedules.
  • Follow up on tooling development, sampling status, and project timelines.

Market & Product Support

  • Assist in collecting customer feedback and monitoring competitor activities.
  • Support the sales team in preparing presentations, proposals, and product information.
  • Help identify new business opportunities and assist in lead generation activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum SPM / Diploma in Business, Marketing, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience, preferably in manufacturing or plastic injection moulding industry.
  • Language proficiency: Bahasa Melayu, English, and Mandarin.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and customer-focused.
  • Skilled in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) without the use of a calculator.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid Class D driving license.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Basic understanding of moulds, materials (e.g., PP, ABS, PC), and injection moulding processes.
  • Experience with ERP or inventory systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings (optional but beneficial).
