Job Overview:

The Senior Chef de Partie (Senior CDP) plays a crucial role in supporting daily kitchen operations in a high-volume, fast-paced modern café environment.

This position requires strong culinary skills, leadership ability, and consistency in delivering high-quality dishes. The Senior CDP is responsible for supervising junior kitchen staff, ensuring food safety compliance, and maintaining smooth coordination during service for a café that serves up to 450 guests.

Job Description

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned kitchen section (e.g., hot kitchen, cold kitchen, breakfast, or pastry).
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to standard recipes, presentation guidelines, and café quality expectations.
  • Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu planning, food costing, and new dish development.
  • Monitor food stock levels and ensure proper storage, labeling, and FIFO practice.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards (HACCP / Food Safety).
  • Train, coach, and guide Commis and Demi CDP team members for skill improvement and consistency.
  • Conduct pre-service checks to ensure readiness of mise-en-place and product quality.
  • Assist in managing food wastage control and daily kitchen inventory reporting.
  • Uphold professional conduct, teamwork, and effective communication within the kitchen and service teams.
  • Support smooth operation during peak hours, special events, or menu promotions.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma / Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in a high-volume café, restaurant, or hotel kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge in Western & Asian fusion cuisine, plating, and portion control.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a section and train junior staff.
  • Able to work long hours, weekends, and shifts as required.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Physically fit, disciplined, punctual, and reliable.
  • Positive attitude and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2, RM2,800.00 per month
