Job Purpose:
To assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food in accordance with established standards and hygiene practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and basic cooking tasks under the supervision of senior kitchen staff.
- Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie and other senior chefs.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Ensure proper storage of all food items.
- Comply with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Support kitchen operations during peak service hours.
- Rotate food stock and manage inventory to minimize waste.
- Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the chef or supervisor.
Requirements:
- Basic culinary skills or relevant training (e.g., diploma or certificate in culinary arts is an advantage).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
Working Conditions:
- Work in hot, noisy kitchen environments.
- May be required to lift heavy pots, pans, or supplies.
- Long hours and standing for extended periods.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM1, RM1,900.00 per month
