About the role

As a Senior Executive Purchasing at Silver Maxlink Sdn Bhd, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing function and ensuring efficient procurement processes to support the company's operations in Seberang Jaya, Penang. This full-time role is crucial in maintaining a smooth supply chain and driving cost-effective purchasing decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and implementing purchasing strategies to meet the company's operational, financial objectives, efficiency and supplier reliability.
  2. Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best possible prices, terms and conditions for the company.
  3. Maintaining and managing relationships with existing suppliers, as well as identifying and onboarding new suppliers as needed.
  4. Monitoring and analysing purchasing data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  5. Collaborating with internal departments (cross-functional teams) such as Marketing, Business Development and Finance to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
  6. Monitor local and international commodity markets, trade regulations, and price trends to support sourcing decisions.
  7. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements related to purchasing.
  8. Providing training and support to the purchasing team to enhance their capabilities and performance.

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the retail or consumer products industry
  2. Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively
  3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  5. Proficient in using purchasing software and other relevant tools
  6. Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
