Job Description

  1. Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization's objectives and the unique needs of the manufacturing plants.
    • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior management on HR-related matters.
  2. Labor Relations and Union Management:
    • Manage and foster positive relationships with union representatives and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
    • Lead negotiations during collective bargaining sessions and resolve disputes effectively to maintain productive labor relations.
  3. Talent Acquisition and Management:
    • Oversee recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent, especially in critical roles within the manufacturing plants.
    • Develop succession planning strategies to ensure a robust pipeline of talent for key positions.
  4. Employee Relations:
    • Implement policies and procedures to foster a positive work environment and ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees.
    • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and investigations in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  5. Training and Development:
    • Collaborate with plant managers to identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the organization.
  6. Change Management and Transformation:
    • Lead and drive organizational transformation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, and employee engagement.
    • Effectively communicate change initiatives and provide support to employees throughout the transformation process.
  7. HR Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
    • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to identify trends and drive data-driven decision-making.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HR leader in a manufacturing environment, preferably managing unionized facilities.
  • Strategic mindset with the capacity to translate business objectives into HR strategies that align with the unique challenges and opportunities of the food/FMCG manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to drive change and lead transformation initiatives in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into HR initiatives.
  • Certification in HR or related field is a plus.
