About Role


As a
Collections Associate in our new
APAC Global Business Services (GBS), you will have the opportunity to play a role in reducing receivable open balances and improve the payment behaviour of our customers.

At the same time, maintaining a high level of customer experience and contribute to the Cashflow target of our Group.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • To issue reminders in accordance with Convatec policies and procedures
  • To work with the OTC Team Lead to proactively manage customer accounts as required by the SLA's
  • To investigate and address customer claims via disputes
  • To respond to general queries from customers regarding payments
  • To research and verify receipt of payments and investigate residuals (shortpay or overpay)
  • To notify the OTC Team Lead regarding cash flow problems or unresponsive customers
  • To identify and process refund and writeoff requests
  • To negotiate and implement payment arrangement plans for delinquent customers in accordance with the Convatec GOA
  • To prepare trackers and assist with starting legal procedures
  • To receive notification of customer bankruptcy, verify obtained information and alert the OTC Tower Lead for further escalation
  • To properly document the outcome of any contact with the customer in the collections tool to ensure audit trail and customer relations
  • To participate in review calls as needed
  • To update the required SOPs and work instructions on a regular basis


In this role you will be collaborating with various stakeholders across the business including our other GBS teams in Lisbon and Bogota, local finance, sales and marketing.

Our APAC GBS supports a hybrid working approach. You will be supporting markets in multiple time zones and some flexibility around working hours will be needed.


You will be joining a newly formed Global Business Services team, with opportunities to grow, within Order To Cash or wider finance functions.


About You

To be successful you will have:

  • Preferably at least 1 year Collections / Finance or Accounting / Customer Service experience across different markets
  • Understanding of country markets and its specific payment methods
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated knowledge of credit analysis
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • A proactive approach towards challenges and problem solving able to work autonomously
  • Excellent organizational and time management able to work to tight deadlines and with switching priorities
  • A customerfirst mindset to fit with our "forever caring" brand
  • Previous experience working in a GBS environment is a plus

Languages**:

  • Good written and spoken English is essential

A proficiency
in Japanese is a MUST (at least JLPT N2 level)

Qualifications
/Education**:

  • Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is desirable however not mandatory
