Head, Middle Office (Global Markets Finance)

The Head of Middle Office will report to the Head, Global Markets Finance. The successful candidate is to provide support and independent control over the activities of the Trading and Sales Desk including managing day to day processing such as static data and market data maintenance which includes daily End of Day process, structured trades validation, collateral management and active involvement in Global Markets' projects and new business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with front office, provide support and independent control over their trading and sales activities; and understand their expectations of the Global Markets Middle Office function within areas that impact trading results in order to drive consistent outcomes across the business and improve analytics (risk, operations, systems).
  • Play an integral part in the growth and development of the business by improving Front to Back operational efficiencies, controls and mitigating operational risk.
  • Ensure agreed turnaround time for client/counterpart requests are met and constantly improve service quality.
  • Manage the centralization and maintenance of market data and static data.
  • Ensure the market data related configurations, such as Market Revaluation Rate Curve, Market Rate Sheet, Swap Generators, Currency Definition, and so forth, are accurately and completely set up and organized.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of trade validation especially structured product, position reconciliation and escalation of breaks across all asset classes in a timely manner.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of EOD rates data saved in the system for daily revaluation and mitigate operational risks around the manual process.
  • Ensure collateral requirements under agreements such as CSA and GMRA are monitored and managed adequately.
  • Ensure a strong governance environment is maintained (operational issues and audit issues addressed) to the various facets of infrastructure build out and provide independent control.
  • Ensure successful testing, roll out and implementation of projects and initiatives involving Middle Office. Reviewing current processes and recommending controls and processes at global standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance or related professional qualification.
  • At least 10 years and above of Global Markets related experience.
