JOB MAIN PURPOSE:

The Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for planning & executing all trade marketing activities for the CH business in Malaysia. The position contributes to the implementation and management of CUEx initiatives, drives the creation and execution of annual trade marketing programs to support commercial and key brand objectives. He/she also identifies, suggests and implements the annual plan for promotions and merchandising activities aimed at developing the CH presence in the relevant channel/category. The position reports directly to the Country Division Head ID / MY and will be based in Malaysia.

YOUR MAIN ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and submit the annual trade marketing and promotional plans for key brands and customers in collaboration with the sales and marketing department, based on analyses, market evaluations, and historical trends.
  • Ensure implementation of the trade marketing plan and promotional programs designed to increase in-store brand presence and ultimately sales off-take at trade level. Perform relevant checks and corrective actions in case of deviations based on market evolutions.
  • Conduct promotion evaluation to monitor the ROI of trade promotions and measure the effect of in-store activities. Propose and implement improved mechanics to gain better ROI if necessary.
  • Define and submit merchandising policies, ensuring implementation in alignment with the Sales and Marketing team, including co-ordination of product, price, and pack changes.
  • Drive and support the Sales team to execute strong visibility, shelf presence, and merchandising position for key brands in key customers/channels.
  • Manage the trade marketing P&I budget expenses as per the allocation agreed by management, to achieve maximum returns. Ensure budgets are well maintained and promotional activities and spends are reported accurately and timely.
  • Conduct regular field visits to check on POSM utilization, promotional activities, and rapport building with key customers to obtain feedback, monitor competitors' activities, and implement tactical countermeasure campaigns as needed. Additionally, conduct co-field visits with the Key Account/Customer Development team and Distributor Sales Force to review execution of trade marketing programs and identify new opportunities.
  • Actively support the Country Division Head on special assignments and projects, as required.
  • Ensure adherence to Bayer Corporate Compliance & policies and procedures within Bayer standards. Responsible for adherence to regulatory requirements and industry code of ethics.

YOUR SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related area. MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 8 years working experience in sales/marketing role; with at least 3 years in trade marketing management position in FMCG or Consumer Health industry, preferably with a multinational company.
  • Experience with JDA or similar space planning tool will be an added advantage. Good business acumen and insights.
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills.
  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership skills and strong ability to collaborate, integrate, and work effectively with cross-functional team members.
  • Strong sense of achievement, sense of urgency to get things done; result-driven attitude. High level of independence and proactive approach with focus on adding value to the business.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Good command of English.
