**Position Overview**
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
- The Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in overseeing the kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food to our customers.
**Responsibilities**
- Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing a variety of dishes, ensuring that they are executed to the highest standards.
- Follow recipes accurately and ensure consistent quality and taste.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of the kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely food production.
- Monitor food presentation to ensure that it meets established standards.
- Menu Development:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new and innovative menu items.
- Make suggestions for menu improvements and changes based on customer preferences and market trends.
- Ensure that all menu items are prepared with attention to detail and adhere to the restaurant's quality standards.
- Kitchen Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about recipes, portion sizes, and food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the Head Chef to place orders for ingredients and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all dishes meet the established standards of taste, presentation, and portion size.
- Address any issues or inconsistencies promptly and take corrective action as necessary.
- Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and quality.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively with the front-of-house staff to coordinate food orders and ensure timely service.
- Assist in training and mentoring new kitchen team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Food Safety and Hygiene:
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Train kitchen staff on proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Monitor and enforce cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Excellent leadership and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
**Salary**: RM3,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
