Shift Coordinator

**Job Purpose**
The Shift Coordinator (Sister On-Duty) functions as the Nursing Administrator for a designated supervision shift and has the authority, responsibility and accountability to oversee and coordinate unit activities throughout the shift. also, to coordinate resources, addresses problems and facilities solutions within and among various Hospital departments in accordance with regulatory/organizational standards and licensed scope of practice.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Keep abreast with the Hospital's policy and practices on PDPA and ensure the Hospital is PDPA compliant in all aspects of employees, patients and vendors information.
- Assist and supervise practices to optimum utilization of ward resources (time, equipment and staff) and reduce wastage.
- Supervise staff activities and welfare.
- Attend to patient's complaints with the support and cooperation of Assistant Head of Nursing/Head of Nursing and Patient Relations Personnel to ensure grievances is promptly and satisfactorily addressed.
- Ensure strict compliance with Occupation Safety & Health Act, Quality Control & Infection Control practices and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate actively in quality assurance and quality improvement programs/projects to improve practices/services.
- Participate or assist in implementing pilot projects undertaken by the Hospital.
- Conduct regular ward audits to ensure strict compliance with workflows and practices.
- Provide leadership to staff and direct intervention in emergency situation including the ability to lead in response to codes and emergencies.
- Responsible for documentation of the Hospital bed census and any outstanding issues during the shift.
- Assist in bed allocation/transfers of patient when required.
- Receive/handover nursing report from Assistant Head of Nursing/Head of Nursing/Nursing Supervisor/Shift Coordinator on duty.
- Provide continuous administrative coverage for the Hospital.
- Assist Head of Nursing to develop and review policies and procedures for improvement by incorporating National and International Standards.
- Analyze workload statistics and recommend improvement to Head of Nursing.
- Attend Organizational Meetings, Organizational Audits and Quality Assurance Programs as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing
- Registered with Malaysia Nursing Board
- Minimum 5 years' of working experience in Nursing
- Practicing/Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- Post Basic course would be an advantage
**Salary**: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Night shift
- Weekend jobs
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Petaling Jaya: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Nursing: 5 years (preferred)
