The resort consists of 499 guest rooms, a 64-acre nature reserve, the Rasa Ria Reserve, home to wildlife including long-tailed macaques and slow lorises, and home to an 18-hole championship golf course with picture-perfect views of Mt Kinabalu (a UNESCO World Heritage site).

We're looking for an experienced Assistant Financial Controller for our Finance Division

Job Summary

As the Assistant Financial Controller at Rasa Ria, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of our hotel. Your attention to detail, financial expertise, and leadership skills will be vital in maintaining accurate financial records, facilitating efficient processes, and supporting strategic decision-making. The following are the key responsibilities of this position.

Assist the Financial Controller in preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
Oversee all functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing.
Collaborate with department heads to create and monitor departmental budgets.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal controls and financial procedures.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to established deadlines.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support cost-saving initiatives and revenue enhancement.
Manage and mentor finance team members, providing guidance and training as needed.
Participate in audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assist in financial forecasting and variance analysis.
Work closely with the Financial Controller to optimize financial performance and operational efficiency.

Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; ACCA, CPA or CA certification is a plus.
4-5 years of progressive experience in a managerial position in finance or accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Strong understanding of financial regulations, GAAP, and hotel accounting practices.
Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Communication skills, both written and verbal.
Leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
Time management; Meet deadlines.
Able to work long hours.
