We are seeking a skilled Automation Development Engineering Specialist to join our team at Western Digital. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for improving and sustaining the automation equipment capability and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) such as availability, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and yield.

Your primary focus will be on performing line troubleshooting, supporting daily production operations, and analyzing equipment failure root causes to propose corrective actions. You will also be responsible for performing regular inspections to identify equipment root causes, performing preventive maintenance, and calibrating equipment to optimal condition.

In addition, you will maintain equipment maintenance documentation and checklists, propose improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability, and support equipment setup, relocation, and retirement. You will also assist engineers in continuous equipment improvement projects and automation projects.

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate a high degree of initiative, motivation, and willingness to work proactively either independently or within a team.

Requirements
  1. Education: Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Experience: Experience in machine operation and automation.
  3. Knowledge:
    1. Advantages of knowledge in PLC and PC programming.
    2. Knowledge of pneumatic components, electrical components, and mechanical components.
    3. Able to read electrical diagrams, pneumatic diagrams, and technical drawings.
  4. Able to work in a 12-hour shift rotation every week.
  5. Must know how to use Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  6. Must work in a team and help each other.
