About the Role

This is a pivotal position that requires a seasoned financial leader to partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to drive financial excellence and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will lead and innovate within our finance department, contributing directly to our organization's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: Collaborate closely with the CFO to oversee day-to-day financial operations and derive clear analyses of business performance.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships to optimize financial stability.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead all aspects of finance, including accounting, reporting, planning, analysis, and decision-making support.
  • Fundraising and Investor Relations: Drive fundraising efforts and maintain investor relations to fuel organizational growth.
  • Accounting Systems and Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust accounting systems, internal controls, and operational procedures.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, tax agents, and bankers to ensure compliance.
  • Budget Preparation and Forecasting: Direct budget preparation and forecasting to guide strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Performance Evaluation: Evaluate financial and business performance, providing actionable insights to management.
  • Financial Health Management: Monitor monthly performance against budget, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Payables, Receivables, and Cash Management: Manage payables, receivables, and cash balances for optimal financial health.
  • Payroll and Human Resources: Oversee payroll functions and implement efficient systems and controls.
  • Team Development: Develop and motivate finance team members to maximize effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualification: Possess a recognized professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or MIA.
  • Senior-Level Experience: Bring a minimum of 5 years of senior-level experience in accounting and finance.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and effective communication across all levels.
  • Leadership Qualities: Exhibit strong leadership qualities with a commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.
