A pioneering medtech startup, NodeFlair is committed to democratizing access to quality healthcare.
We are based in Boston, Massachusetts, with a global presence. The ideal candidate will design and develop innovative medical devices using ultra-low power wireless technology.
The successful Product Engineer will combine technical expertise with creative problem-solving skills to develop groundbreaking medical devices addressing critical clinical needs. They should be adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about harnessing technology to advance healthcare.
This role reports directly to the CTO, an experienced engineer turned entrepreneur who has founded India's first wearable tech company and received the 'Young Indian Entrepreneur of the Year' award.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop cutting-edge medical devices from concept to final product.
- Create prototypes using CAD software, especially SolidWorks and Catia.
- Conduct theoretical and practical testing on product designs to ensure functionality and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineers.
- Oversee manufacturing processes and manage subcontractors.
- Develop mechanical concepts for challenging tasks in medical robotics.
- Support verification and validation processes, CE and FDA submissions.
- Participate in in-vivo and clinical studies, locally and internationally.
- Prepare technical documentation, including protocols, test reports, and product specifications.
- Ensure compliance with medical device standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in medical device development.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant engineering software.
- Knowledge of motion control systems and molded plastics parts design.
- Familiarity with medical device development standards and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creativity and innovation in product design and development.
