The Language Specialist performs all the activities required to ensure the optimal conditions for the LS team to create high quality deliverables through human translation, transcreation, machine translation, AI generated translation both in-house and through external partners.

Language Specialists leverage insightful linguistic and cultural expertise to ensure the team’s deliverables comply with NI’s quality standards and convey a local-sensitive message. Duties include:

- Leveraging various technologies (tools, MT engines, AI) to deliver high-quality, scalable output.
- Evaluation of the content delivered by external providers.
- Translation and transcreation.
- Being the point of contact for all stakeholders when it comes to linguistic matters.

Main responsibilities:

- Translation Aid technology enablement: evaluation, maintenance and debugging of machine translation and AI-generated tools and content.
- Vendor enablement: evaluation of content provided by suppliers; feedback for continuous improvement and risk mitigation; support during RFPs and onboarding of new suppliers.
- Creation and maintenance of linguistic assets: terminology databases, translation memories and style guides.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert for your language and the culture of your region.

Perform translation and transcreation.

Qualifications and skills:

- BA in translation, localization or equivalent, or related professional experience.
- Native fluency level in S. Chinese and outstanding English communication skills.
- Good understanding of localization technologies (CAT tools, machine translation, evaluation tools etc.) and ability to adopt new technologies and processes.
- Ability to work well with others in a multi-cultural environment as well as with cross-departmental teams.
- Strong problem solving, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
- Works well independently - able to perform daily duties with mínimal supervision.
