Project Manager in Building Construction

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Project Planning**
Define project goals, create work plans, schedule tasks, allocate resources (manpower, machines, materials), and prepare budgets.
- **Team Leadership**
Lead and manage project teams, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure safety and quality.
- **Budget Control**
Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, control costs, and avoid overspending.
- **Stakeholder Communication**
Act as the main contact for clients, consultants, authorities, and internal teams. Provide updates and handle issues professionally.
- **Risk Management**
Identify potential problems early (e.g., delays, weather, safety issues) and plan solutions to reduce impact.
- **Quality Control**
Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications through regular checks and inspections.
- **Schedule Management**
Create and maintain project schedules. Monitor progress and take action to avoid delays.
- **Procurement & Contracts**
Manage purchasing of materials and services. Ensure suppliers and subcontractors meet contract terms.
- **Safety Management**
Enforce safety rules and work with Safety Officers to keep the site safe and compliant with regulations.
- **Problem Solving**
Resolve site issues quickly and make informed decisions to keep the project moving.
- **Reporting**
Prepare progress reports, financial updates, and maintain proper documentation.
- **Handover**
Oversee final inspections, fix defects, and ensure smooth project handover to the client.
**Requirements**:
- **Education**: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Master’s is an advantage.
- **Certifications**: PMP or PRINCE2 preferred. CIDB Green Card, SSS, or SHO certification is a bonus.
- **Experience**: At least 7 years in managing construction projects (residential, commercial, or infrastructure).
- **Technical Skills**:
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and project management.
- Experience with tools like Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, or BIM.
- Familiar with building codes and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, CIDB).
- Knowledge of contracts like FIDIC or JKR.
- **Soft Skills**:
- Good leadership and team management.
- Strong communication and negotiation.
- Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
- **Personal Qualities**:
Organized, reliable, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to high standards.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
