Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and administration of enterprise-grade database management systems including SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies to meet business continuity objectives.
  • Proactively monitor and optimize database performance, including index optimization, query tuning, and resource management.
  • Architect and implement automated processes for database provisioning, backup, and maintenance using scripting and DevOps tools.
  • Ensure database environments are secure, compliant, and aligned with IT governance and audit requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs and engineers.
  • Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure engineers, and business stakeholders to design scalable, reliable data solutions.
  • Manage and execute data migrations, version upgrades, and patch deployments with minimal downtime and risk.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and assess their applicability to business needs.

Job Requirement

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5 years Proven experience as a Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Proficiency in database scripting languages like SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based databases is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proven experience implementing and supporting high availability (HA), replication, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
  • In-depth understanding of database security, auditing, role-based access control, and encryption.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
