Overview

  • The Technical Engineer will provide technical support for Solmax's range of geosynthetics products, focusing on applications such as reinforced slopes and walls, basal and piled embankments, soft soil consolidation, subgrade stabilization, coastal and inland waterways erosion protection. This role requires a proactive and collaborative approach to influence the use of our products, support internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to product development and marketing initiatives. The candidate should possess a minimum of Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the full range of geosynthetics products manufactured by Solmax Geosynthetics with specific emphases on civil and geotechnical applications such as reinforced slopes and walls, basal and piled embankments, soft soil consolidation, subgrade stabilization, coastal and inland waterways erosion protection, etc.
  • Perform design and engineering analysis to support project specific sales and specifying the solutions using products offered by the company.
  • Develop, manage and follow up on all projects in the pipelines, and update them periodically.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders including consultants, engineers, government authorities, etc.
  • Initiate and contribute to the publication and presentation of technical papers or equivalent in seminars and conferences as part of contributions to increase the company's exposure.
  • Develop technical documentation, including technical notes, technical blog, installation guidelines, and case studies, as assigned.
  • Participate in activities intended to improve technical literature, sales and marketing related promotional support information, and presentations for technical sales & marketing purposes.
  • Provide support in R&D and product development activities as assigned.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Prior experience as a design engineer in a civil or geotechnical consulting firm is an advantage; however, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with industry professionals, government officials, key customers and professional institutions.
  • Capable of defining and resolving problems in dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in English and Malay languages include reading, writing and speaking.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multi-tasking job responsibilities.
  • Exhibit resilience in the face of challenges, maintain a positive and adaptable approach to overcoming obstacles.
