Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding market share for United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and developing strategic partnerships to achieve revenue targets and enhance the bank's presence within the Malaysian market.

Job Responsibilities

* Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within target segments to achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets.
* Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their financial needs and offering tailored banking solutions.
* Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, potential threats, and opportunities for business expansion.
* Develop and implement strategic business development plans, aligning with the bank's overall growth objectives and risk appetite.
* Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients, showcasing the value proposition of UOB Malaysia's products and services.
* Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including product development, credit, legal, and operations teams, to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
* Negotiate and structure complex deals, ensuring all transactions adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and sound credit principles.
* Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and client feedback to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
* Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote UOB Malaysia's brand and generate leads.
* Stay updated with the latest financial products, services, and regulatory changes within the banking industry.

Job Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., CFA) is a plus.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence senior-level clients and stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for identifying new business opportunities.
* Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in other local languages is an advantage.
